I know that some of these sales seem like quite the drive, but I feel like it is worth the trip.  Make a plan for the day, and plan to stay late that night.  Take the kids.  You won't regret it unless you spend too much money.  Check our site for all the details on buyers fees and sellers fees.  Some sales don't have goats and some don't have cattle.  Some only take cash.  Some take checks.  Some take credit cards.  Just read the details of each one carefully and have a great time.  Click here for listings.

Know Where Your Food Comes From

The number of people who truly care where their food comes from is growing. People want to know how the animals they eat were treated. Were the animals feed hormones or unnecessary antibiotics? Were the animals treated humanely? What were their housing conditions?

People also want their vegetation to be grown organic. In this difficult economy we try to find ways to reduce cost, but the need to ensure quality out weighs the need to be cheap.

These people face the problem of finding local farmers they can trust to feed their families. The solution is simple. We network. That is it. We simply network the public with the farmers and the butchers. If several families joined together and bought a single cow, the farmer could deliver the cow to the butcher where the family picks up the meat processed and ready to cook. Now are you starting to see the importance of the network process?

Please read The Trouble With Smithfield written by Food and Water Watch. This is only one article detailing the reasons why people want to know where their food comes from.
